How Do You Cite a Tweet in an Academic Paper?
The Modern Language Association likes to keep up with the times. As we all know, some information breaks first or only on Twitter and a good academic needs to be able to cite those sources. So, the MLA has devised a standard format that you should keep in mind.
When will this be in Chicago format? I need the wisdom of @andylevy or @birbigs or @ sklarbrothers in my research!

Andrew Breitbart was a good, very intelligent man who made it okay to be a vocal conservative, not to mention a libertarian in California. He was also a great guest on Red Eye. It was sad to find out he died this morning. It is utterly ridiculous to see some of the vile hate being circulated on the Internet and on television, and what can be only described as joyful exuberance over a truly untimely death.
OH MY GOD! I saw this on Red Eye and it was easily the second cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
Everything about this is amazing. The Twilight Zone theme, Greg Gutfeld from Red Eye, everything. And even though it’s supposed to be an anti-Ron Paul commercial it almost feels like something Paul himself would’ve put together. It seems more like an endorsement of ideas than a condemnation. I’ve been behind Paul for five years now, so that may have something to do with my view on it. Jon Huntsman’s a good guy though. Also, they are so scared of this guy right now, it’s really great.
